Anyone ever go to Renaissance Fairs?

Post by Ash on Wed Jun 04, 2008 8:42 am

I haven't gone for years now.. but it was a real blast when I use to go....well, for the most part.

I went to an SCA event called WAR a couple of times, if you know who they are.... where if your not dressed "period" by evening.. you'll get kicked out of the park that there event takes place in. The event I used to go too went on for 3 days and nights straight through.

At the SCA event they had battles everyday.. with padded weapons.. but everyone had to wear full armour..(leather and metal)... cause they also had huge ballistas that they woudl shoot into the enemy armies ranks..haha.. the Large bolts had padded tips... but they woudl stilll really mess people up. It was fun too watch.

Then there's always the home made brews , armour, apparel and weaponry which is great as well.

My moms cousin is a blacksmith that goes to them like every weekend or every other weekend, together with his daughter, son and wife, and they all participate,
this was at their place

I went to a fair 3 times, but I can't find pics

I have been to the same War festival. That is the one in Portrero right? Yeah, that is where I purchased my royal tunic that my worthless ex-wife lost for me. She is an infected pile of rotting maggot vomit... uh well yeah, I love going to those festivals. I need to start going much more often.

I like the "raised on country sunshine" watering jug behind you. It's a nice touch to the pose.
