Sexual Purity

..Any advice on how to not have sex before marriage...etc.. cause I really fail on that Christian principle..?

And are and Christians actually able to do it (or rather not do it if you know what I mean..haha) ??

I totally failed when I was younger (read 18-23), but then I recommitted myself and was able to stop until I was married (just shy of my 28 birthday). My wife stayed pure until we were married. She is a remarkable woman.

That is remarkable these days. Sounds like a good woman .

If it was like: everyone must have sex before marriage, it wouldnt be no problems at all for anyone to not have sex ever.

Infact if it was so, the question would be inverted! Like this one:

"Any advice on how to HAVE sex before marriage...etc.. cause I really fail on that Christian principle..?"

Rules create the sins! And if we didnt know that certain rules excist we wouldnt feel the desire to do thoose sins.
ANYONE WHO AGREE??

Yea, Moral Laws manifest Sin.

It's weird, I think the 'no sex before marriage' rule is something that some Christians obide my quite strictly, but then other Christians don't think it's that important.

My old church used to be quite strict on this; a couple of my friends were engaged to be married but they had sex a couple of months before there wedding. Because of this, the church wouldn't let them have the big fancy wedding they wanted, and frowned upon them for it.

I know there are a lot of people who do it, but Im guessing they have a very strong will power and really believe that it is the right thing for them 100% I know a couple of people who did it at my old church, but then again they generally married quite young anyway

Personally, Im kind of indifferent about it. I am pure in some aspects, but not in others. For me, I guess I'm just waiting for the right person to come along - when it feels right, you know? I believe sex is supposed to mean something, and doesn't have the same effect when you aren't in love with the person. And I do think it's quite beautiful to save yourself for the person you marry, it would be very special...

And to refrain from having sex..I guess you'd just try and avoid anyone you found attractive lol.

No. I know I would be just as horny, rule or not.
Fortunately I'm married and don't have to worry about it.

Fail, though at the time I was not at all interested in anything having to do with the Church and I sort of was engaged, and more importantly: stupid.

Now, I'm a crazed work-a-holic who rarely goes out, so that solved that problem.

well no fail so far, my buddys have called me insane and smacked me on the head when they've seen me turn down one night stands and stuff like that, i don't even make out with a girl if i i'm not in love.
now i actually don't really believe in the whole waiting thing anymore, i don't know i might just be horny. but waiting this long has made me to chicken to go for it, i mean sweden is a very secular nation and it feels like everyone thats my age and not butt ugly have already done it and i hate looking weak or bad at something in other peoples eyes

I admire anyone that is strong enough to wait until marriage. It definetly is not the norm in today's society. it shows a true test of strength.

That's true.

I wonder if it has ever been the "norm" though. Sometimes more so than others though.

If you've got the power to wait, awesome! I think that's wonderful.

Personally, I find one-night stands and casual *loveless* sex absolutely repulsive...which is part of the reason why I ditched that bloke.
