Blunders on stage!

Post by Heavy Matthi on Fri Jul 04, 2008 4:12 pm

Well, it seems that we are a rather musical community here. And for all of you who have done a concert or maybe only just played a flute solo in front of your family, here is the question:

I want to know some of your most awkward moments on stage! pirat

THere was defenitly quite a number of awkward moments on stage in my life.

One terrible thing that, unfortunatley, still sometimes happens is that when I play the drums I sometimes loosen the snares of the snaredrum before the band and me plays and then I forget to tighten it when we start playing. Shocked Shocked

The snaredrum then makes this ugly boing-sound which sounds like hitting a plasitc can, its so embarrassing Embarassed

Last time it happens was a few days ago when I played in a worship team of our church...

Now its your turn to tell some funny stories!

I had a real bad cut on one of my fingers once and had to play a show .. I wrapped it in electrical tape.. but I still ended up bleeding all over my guitar while i was playing... anditi was painful too..

haha

We were having a show outdoors on a very primitive stage,
and there was no ground for the electricity,
so our guitarplayer couldn't play since he got electrocuted all the time when touching his strings

- Electrocution (outdoors)
- Entire band forgetting new song due to delirium
- Accidentally unplugging keyboards
- Accidentally unplugging guitar amp
- Bleeding on guitar
- Band members inadvertently eating my hair

- Small child rushing stage with guitar in hand
- Dancing girls rushing stage
- Being crushed by audience
- No audience

I should play some worshipsongs in church, and used my strap with the text "Hell sucks".
But the word "sucks" became hidden when i wear the strap. So the churchvisitors only saw a guy with long hair playing worship with a strap says "hell".

I noticed a open fly on my pants when we had played our gig at EoR.

lol!

That's actually a very difficult song ~ my voice coach had wanted me to perform it for a recital, but I always felt very light-headed after singing it...definitly prevented a stage blunder there.

Some of mine include:
-Getting my hair caught in the tuning heads of guitar.
-Getting my hair caught in the tuning heads of lead guitarist's guitar.
-Getting my hair caught in the tuning heads of bass player's bass.
-Getting whacked on the head by guitar/bass.
-Getting whacked in the head by flying drum stick.
-Tripping/falling/knocking stuff/band member over.
-Falling and knocking over my keyboard *was slightly inebriated drunken *.
-Accidently swearing at a church performance after knocking something over.
-Accidently smacking band members in the face with flailing hand movements.
-Playing songs in the key and/or octave.
-Forgetting to put new batteries/recharge in cordless mic.
-Losing place mid-song.
-Really needing to go potty.
-Ripping sleeves or hems on dress/skirt, though I never thougt of that as a bad thing. ;D
We were having a show outdoors on a very primitive stage,
and there was no ground for the electricity,
so our guitarplayer couldn't play since he got electrocuted all the time when touching his strings

I had a real bad cut on one of my fingers once and had to play a show .. I wrapped it in electrical tape.. but I still ended up bleeding all over my guitar while i was playing...
Both of those, though for the second one, I was wearing a bandage...fail.
I'm sure there are plenty more that I can't remember.*sigh* I miss those days...

Just before we went on I fell over and cut muself so badly I had to get the bus to the hospital and get 17 stitches. Needless to say, I missed the show.
