Classical music

Post by PeacethroughX on Tue May 27, 2008 11:51 am

We listen to classical music probably as much as metal. My husband's favorites include Pagannini and Beethoven. I like Mozart's string quartet pieces better than some of his piano pieces.

Anybody else into classical, either traditional or contemporary, or maybe both?

I'm partial to Holst's 'Planets' suite as well as the operas of 'Der Ring des Nibelungen' by Wagner. Twisted Evil I also dig more avant-garde from John Cage, Henry Cowell, etc.

David Arkenstone is one of the new composers I like, too. He writes epics and story music - grand, majestic pieces that make for intense listening.

I have discovered one of the most beautiful classical pieces ever.

it's 16th century Renaissance,
by THomas Tallin, called the 40 part motet,
there are 8 groups of 5 voices singing, and it sounds like a friggin choir of angels.

sick and beautiful
