Re: Daecaunt
Well... even the word Lucifer doesn't actually mean anything nefarious... is just means roughly "bringer of light". Of course after the Fall, that angel is always referred to by different names.. like Satan or The Devil.
There's also plenty of other words that start with the Latin "Luc" that has nothing to do with that one being. haha./

Statingt wrote:Doesn't the word Lucaifem ring any bells for anyone else?? If not, then look at the symbol he uses - or the subscript Mabusthat appears when you hover your mouse over it on his homepage. Think you're all being deceived here. Correct me if you think I'm wrong?
a wiki search on lucifer reveals that it is used twice in the bible; both times not referring to satan himself (first to the king of babylon and again in 2 peter as a positive word. I'm not sure what lucaifem means, but the beginning of the word is latin for light. being deceived? .. just look at his stuff and listen to his music and tell us it's evil?
btw, what's mabus?

Re: Daecaunt
If 'Statingt' is referring to what I think he or she is referring to now *and I'm thinking already did so on another forum 'cause this sounds very familiar*, there are people who are saying Obama is Mabus or that Hussein was Mabus or that Bush is Mabus, which is rather strange to say as Mabus was supposed to have killed in 1999...Mabus is supposed to be an 'anti-Christ' type character, according to dear Michel di Nostradame.btw, what's mabus?
Also, there is much debate as to whether 'Mabus' is supposed to be the '3rd anti-Christ' or killed by the '3rd anti-Christ'...
And let us not forget Herr Ray Mabus. ;D

Re: Daecaunt
alight, so I went and brushed up on my nostradamus and according to century II, quantrain 60-62 .. I see no genuine reference to mabus being evil at all. in fact, all it says is that "then he will soon die." it gives this in the context right after a battle. I think people take written words out of context way too easily. it only takes one person surrounded by alot of people to get an idea like "mabus being the antichrist" and have it spread like smallpox.
so statingt, were you trying to reference daecaunt being the antichrist? and I'm still not seeing on his website where youre talking about mabus being there?

Re: Daecaunt
Yep, there really isn't much that points to 'Mabus' as the '3rd anti-Christ', it seems more like he is supposed to be killed or destroyed by the anti-Christ.
But this is what 'Statingt' is talking about:
http://www.lucaifem.com/home.html
Under the 'Album Release' link, Daecaunt's symbol has a mouseover/alt tag that says 'Mabus' and it's a link to a list of some of his lyrics and music from the album.

Re: Daecaunt
cd came in the mail today. I'm rather pleased with it and I agree.. it's one of the best I've bought this year. there's even a track on it that's not on his website (nerius). it's hard to believe that any one man can play all those instruments so well and write the words to go with them. absolutely astounding!

I haven't bought a cd for quite a long while. Wish all the record stores would not have closed down.

Re: Daecaunt
I don't like mp3s and I don't care much for these newer musical technologies. I love to have the artwork that comes with an album, there are some bands and people that don't give a crap, but often album artwork sets the mood and provides insight. I love bands like Faith & the Muse and Mors Syphilitica that did the artwork themselves, painted it, they put their soul into it...I guess you could download album art, but eh... I like the tangible-ness of cds and cassettes and 8-tracks and vinyl records.
Also, I've had some of my best memories and life-changing moments at record shops, so it's rather heart-breaking for me that so many are closing down.
There are still many bands who are fighting this new craze of download-only albums ~ they're still holding on to their revolutionary rebel roots!
Bleh, upon the mediocrity of iPods!

Re: Daecaunt
well I live in a very small eff. apartment and if all my albums were still on cd, I'd have to move my bed outside.
I do agree though that some albums are worthy of keeping in pristine condition. my daecaunt cd didn't come with any booklet, but the cover art of the jacket and disc itself are divine. the pic of the letter on the back of it looks very old. any clue what lang. it's in?
don't have an iPod, but i love my cheap little mp3 player. melts in my ears not in my car..

Re: Daecaunt
Dammit! I have come too late.
When I lived on my own, both here and abroad, I took with me a collection of only my most beloved of albums, which was still probably a rather ridiculous amount...and I kept adding to it.
So, yeah, my favorite albums *some of them very rare ($$$)* are quite far from mint condition. I don't think I could ever be a collector of rare valuables ~ I'm too rough with things.
My cd came with a few print outs...not so much an actual booklet; the artwork is very lovely though!
I am lucky/unlucky enough to live with my family again, so I've lots of room to fling my stuff around. My cds, cassettes, books, movies, etc are mostly stored in my closet and my sister's old room/my work room/the guest room, but like all my other belongings, they have minds of their own and end up in most randomly strange places.well I live in a very small eff. apartment and if all my albums were still on cd, I'd have to move my bed outside.I do agree though that some albums are worthy of keeping in pristine condition. my daecaunt cd didn't come with any booklet

Re: Daecaunt
dammit is right. I had this one on ebay watch and missed it with only one bid placed.
Can you read the h-writing on the back of the cd case?
if I didn't have my mp3 player, that would be a difficult task.
