well for one she completely bashed behaviorism, claiming that it's only about punishment.
2nd part is when she said that electric shock therapy was biological, its not at all, if anything it was behavioristic, but is nowadays only used for torture no professional behaviorists.
thats what i remember on teh top of my head anyway without re watching it

so it woudl seem you disagree with her philosophically on behaviourism, but that doesn't make her "wrong". As far as electric shock being biological, I think you could say it is both biological and behaviouristic...

for example.. the new treatment for serious Terret's syndrome is a surgery that places tiny probes in the part of the brain that seems to cause the neurological motor problems and then stimulating it with mild electric shocks.. thus far.. on numerous patients it has worked miraculously.. to the point were institutionalized patients were able to return to a normal life.

IN that case, electric shock can be seen as certainly biological.

well you could argue that, but then you would be missing the whole point she is trying to get across. behaviorism is simply locating the stimuli of an behavior and then erasing it. she is basically reading out of an 30 year old textbook when it was new and people really tried to reprogram people that way. nowadays its al about locating the subconscious stimuli that makes someone do soemthing stupid, liek set buildings on fire. does teaching someone that its a fear of not being in control that causes his fear of hight so that he can work on that instead equal reprogramming his brain? no, and thats why she is infact wrong

yes but that is not biological psycology, that is repairning his messed up nervsystem by simultaing contact between it and his brain.
even though it deals with the brain, it does not deal with someones mind. i guess similar technology could be used to concect certain feelings to certain objects, but then it would still be behavoiristic in the base.

Sounds like you might be referring to psychiatry, when alot of the subject of mindcontrol is psychology?

Not that there isn't often drugs used to influence people's minds.

No, Psychiatry is a medical science, Psychology is Behavioral science. Psychiatrists are M.D's. Psychologists are Phd's.

scratch
well duh... thats because Psychiatrists are the ones that put the theories to use on people, while psychologists are the ones that do the purely scientific research.
Psychiatry is the treatment of the human mind, while psychology is the theory of the human mind. needless to say you can't treat something without knowledge of it

I don't think your getting it, me friend.

Psychiatrists are medical doctors. They prescribe drugs.

Psychologists are phd's. They cannot prescribe drugs.

so? do you think psychiatrists only prescribe drugs? who do you think wrote the books the psychiatrist read during his education? who formulated the theories he uses?
a Psychologist did thats who... i don't give a f.u.c.k if they prescribe pills or not, without Psychology there can be no real psychiatry.

it's like this:
engineer: invents new helicopter
pilot: puts it to use for our comfort

Psychologist: conducts research and base on result, writes a theory
psychiatrist: puts that theory to use for our well being

I would say without Neurology and Endocrinology there would be no Psychiatry.

And without Freud and Willhelm Wundt there would be no Psychology.

actually ash was closer then you:

Psychology (Greek: Ψυχολογία, lit. "study of the mind", from ψυχή psukhē "breath, spirit, soul"; and -λογία, -logia "study of"[1]) is an academic and applied discipline involving the systematic, and often scientific, study of human/animal mental functions and behavior. Occasionally, in addition or opposition to employing the scientific method, it also relies on symbolic interpretation and critical analysis, although it often does so less prominently than other social sciences such as sociology. Psychologists study such phenomena as perception, cognition, attention, emotion, motivation, personality, behavior and interpersonal relationships. Some, especially depth psychologists, also study the unconscious mind.
