The Alchemist

No... I do have many many lyrics that *aren't* titled starting with 'the'.. it just happens that this one is. This is probably our best speedy song, very heavy but melodic power metal. The aim of this was to explore a lot of old alchemic philosophy and visuals, including things such as astrology and the Tarot, within kind of a faith-based perspective,.... all of the above having distinct roots in the Church helps, of course. I always introduce the song as being about "a man of the arcane, with eyes open wide." Everything here is very allegorical.

yep..see first couple of sentences It's actually our newest finished one. If you listened to the 'Symphony in Black' link I posted in some other thread, it's similar in that it's generally fast as well, but this one has more dynamic, light/shade, and harmony, as well as a more melodic rather than aggressive chorus. But most of the riff breaks are extremely thrashy (not in the punk thrash sense, but the epic thrash sense).

I say at your own risk, because this particular show had HORRIBLE mix in the monitors, and so I was off key vocally just about the entire night. Ironically enough though, the new song (this song) sounded the best. It's the second one up, so you can hear a not so great version of it if you can sit through the crappiness that is the opener. Nothing is worse than not being able to hear yourself....

I wish I had some of my bands recorded shows still.. that reminds me, I need to try and recover what I can , if any of those form the people that have either lost the "tapes" or erased them...
